Biography
David Wright completed his Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1994. Currently he is working as Professor on the Department of Chemistry, Vanderbilt University & he is the Director of Laboratories for Innovations in Global Health Technologies, Vanderbilt University, USA
Research Interest
His research employs inorganic chemistry, nanotechnology, and material science to solve real world problems. Students in the Wright group receive broad training in synthesis, physical methods, assay development, and biological systems. Our current interests lie in three areas:
Re-imagining diagnostic tests for low resource environments
Heme homeostasis in the malaria parasite, plasmodium falciparum
Development of bioinspired routes for the synthesis of functional materials and devices
